Nitrate may harm the health of the consumer as it can be converted to nitrite causing methaemoglobinaemia or carcinogenic nitrosamines. To take directional measures during the growth of vegetables which will decrease the nitrate content, physiological knowledge about the nitrogen economy of the plant is needed. In this review the physiological role of nitrate as osmoticum and its relationship with carbon utilisation will be described; some practical implications for growers and the consequence for quality of the product will be discussed.14aNITRATE14aVEGETABLE12aBlom-Zandstra, M.40uhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/19ooiDZUxvmZqsm0eA6dxgz_dXEuDakDo/view?usp=drivesdkzPara ver el documento ingresa a Google con tu cuenta: @cicy.edu.mx 2LoccREF1250602s9999 xx |||||s2 |||| ||und|d c26243d26243 00102Loc40708F1aCICYbCICYcREd2025-06-25l0oB-16129r2025-06-25 16:01:45w2025-06-25yREF1
