We present a new method of poly(3-methylthiophene)(P3MT)deposition on solid substrates by in situ polymerization. We show that the polymer can be prepared on a variety of different solid surfaces including conducting and nonconducting, planar and nonplanar substrates. The poly(3-methylthiophene)obtained by this method reveals good optical, electrochemical and mechanical properties. The preparation of the polymer in form of thin films (on flat surfaces)or three-dimensional structures [using templates, e.g., polycarbonate (PC)membranes]has been demonstrated.
