In this paper an analytical integration scheme is described which can be applied to triangular elements for use in potential problems. It is well known that large integration errors can result when attempting to solve integral equations with singular kernels numerically. The paper shows that while the analytical scheme takes longer computationally than the usual quadrature approach, it is quicker than numerical integration if the triangle is subdivided in order to achieve a reasonable accuracy.
